Plainsman
PUMA Plainsman, the model numbers are 0970 and 0971. The handles were made from jacaranda. The 970 model has a single blade. The 971 model has a single blade and a saw blade.
PUMA made the Plainsman model in 1968. In 970 PUMA changed the model to the 970 Planter. Later in 1970 PUMA began making the famous 970 Game Warden model.
This knife measures 8 5/8" overall with a 3 7/8" blade. The front of the hunting blade is etched: 970 PUMA GAME WARDEN - NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL - HANDMADE GERMANY. This fine German hunting knife also has the factory Rockwell sticker.
The knife features jacaranda handles with three brass rivets. This knife measures 8 5/8" overall with a 3 7/8" blade. This fine German hunting knife also has the factory Rockwell sticker.
