Settler

PUMA Settler, the model number is 42 0805. The guarantee control number is 26182. This indicates the knife was hand made at PUMA Werks in the 2nd half of 1981. This is an extremely rare model to find as PUMA only made them for less than a few months.

This model is the same as model number 705, but it has a special safety closing feature to prevent unforeseen closing. The model 805 does not have a push button on the backspring to unlock the blade like the model 705 has. The handles are jacaranda. They have four polished silver pins. PUMA only made the 705 for a year.

This knife measures 6 3/4" overall with a 2 3/4" blade. The blade is etched: PUMA SETTLER - NEW STAINLESS SUPER KEEN CUTTING STEEL - HANDMADE GERMANY.

The knife features a PUMA Germany jacaranda wood handle with four silver pins. The handles are gorgeous with a lot of character to the grain.

The knife includes the "PUMA Proof Mark" on the blade: a small dot or ping on the blade was made with a diamond pointed needle, part of the Rockwell blade quality testing. The Rockwell sticker is also still intact.

The Settler is an extremely rare model.
