This is a gorgeous mint 1976 Vintage Puma Graf von Frankenburg Knife with hand carved exotic handles. The knife is over 35 years old. This is a chance to own a great piece of Puma cutlery history. The blade is German stainless steel and the handles are hand carved with an intricate design on both sides of the knife handle.

This knife measures 9 3/4" overall with a 5 1/2" blade. The knife blade is also intricately engraved on both sides.

The knife includes the "Puma Proof Mark" on the blade: a small dot or ping on each blade was made with a diamond pointed needle, part of the Rockwell blade quality testing. It has a 5 1/2" German stainless steel blade and is 9 3/4" in overall length.  

The Graf von Frankenberg knife, Model CK-734, a very special knife bearing Serial # 105 of 734. The knife features, engraved bolsters, hand carved handles, acid etched oak leaf motif blade with gold inlaid etching. It was produced in 1976 to commemorate the introduction of Christianity to Frankenberg, Germany in the year 734 A.D. 

Limited edition of 734 knives hand made by Puma Werks beginning on 1975 and continuing until 1979. Slightly less than half of the 734 knives (330) were for U. S. distribution. The very high quality knife is handled in genuine exotic material. It is hand engraved on the mark side with a wild boar, and on the reverse side with a running red stag deer. Gold-filled bolsters are hand engraved with scroll work. Both sides of the blade are are etched with gold- filled oak leaf design. The words "AD 734 Graf von Frankenberg" are etched on the mark side and "Puma Germany" / serial number on the reverse side. 

The head of PUMA-WERK at the time Otto von Frankenberg was a descendant of the founding family. When this knife was made it was considered to be the finest that the factory ever produced by PUMA. It is an absolutely beautiful knife with fine engraving on the blade and bolsters.

Ruthard von Frankenberg was a well-known ancestor of the former managing director of the Puma work "Oswald von Frankenberg and Ludwigsdorf" (1953-1956). It was Oswald who moved the production of bags and household knives at the PUMA factory to functional hunting, fishing, recreational and sports knives. He collaborated with senior forestry master Walter Frevert and created many of the PUMA classic knives.

This Puma knife was hand made in Solingen Germany in 1976. It is truly a rare Puma knife that was made to the the highest quality in Solingen Germany. The Puma knife comes in a very nice Puma green leather display case that is lined with green velvet. The knife comes with the factory parchment certification papers.
