Very nice mint Vintage Puma 1986 "STEPS OF FREEDOM SET" Gorgeous Scrimshaw. There were only 200 Sets produced by Puma in 1987. The pattern number is  715. The knives come in a very nice wooden display case with a Brass Plaque on the inside lid. The date tag is 42682. This dates them as being produced in the 2nd half of 1986 by Puma.

Puma only made 200 of these sets and each is individually serial numbered. This knife set is serial number 062. This is a chance to own a great piece of Puma cutlery history. The knives also have the genuine Rockwell sticker on the rear of the blade. 

Each knife features a 2 3/4" polished finish Solingen Stainless Steel blade and is 6 7/8" overall in length. It is 4" long when closed. The handles are Scrimshawed by Bonnie Schulte and are pinned with four polished brass rivets. The handle is inlaid with the round gold Puma shield. 

The bolsters are mirror polished Brass. The traditional Rockwell Hardness Proof Mark is on the rear blade. The front tang is stamped: PUMA GERMANY STAINLESS and the rear tang is stamped 715 4 STARS. The knife case comes in the original factory Puma box.

These Puma knives were hand made in Solingen Germany in 1986 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the signing of The Constitution of the United States. It is made to the the highest Puma quality in Solingen Germany.
